Earrings have become a new obsession of mine to crochet. Earrings are simple and fun to crochet because they work up so quickly and they take few resources.
Adding a new statement piece to your jewelry box will not take much of an investment. If you crochet already, you should have all the main materials minus the earring pieces. Also, the basic materials are similar between all the patterns so you can make many pairs of earrings without worrying you need more items.
I have been stockpiling crochet earrings on my Pinterest board for project ideas. I’m excited to share them all. The best part is, over half of the patterns are accompanied by a video tutorial. And did I mention all 16 patterns are free?!
Without further ado, I present to you, the 15 Most Elegant Crochet Earring Patterns that I have come across. I guarantee you will find a pattern that you like.

Button Earrings by Nidhi
Last one by Nidhi for this post. I just can’t get over how pretty her earring patterns are! I want to share them all.
This particular set of earrings is great because you can get out your button stash and finally use a few. The color and material of the button don’t really matter. But for this pattern, make sure the button is round.
This pattern is basically teaching you to crochet a circle larger than the button and attaching the button in the middle. So the single crochet stitch will need to be known along with simple increases to complete this project. But check out the video below for the full step-by-step tutorial.
To complete these earrings, all you will need by way of materials are as follows:
- 1.75 mm crochet hook
- Crochet thread
- Buttons
- Fish hook earrings
- Scissors
- Needle
- Glue gun
What do I do with all the Earrings?!
Now that you have become obsessed with crocheting earrings, the logical question is to ask whatever will you do with so many pairs of earrings? Afterall, the earring pieces come in multiples, not just two or three.
Chances are, you will have enough materials for many of these projects. Plus, earrings don’t take long to make. You could have dozens of earrings complete before the week is up.
Just in case you make tons of earrings because of your newfound obsession, try out one of these suggestions for getting rid of them.
- Gift them. Graduation gifts, wedding gifts, birthday gifts, Mother’s Day gifts or Christmas gifts. These are just a few occasions where you could gift the beautiful earrings.
- Sell them. Have an Etsy shop? Try listing the handmade earrings on there. Have an Instagram? Share pictures of the earrings you make and offer them for sale. Just make sure the pattern allows you to sell them and that you give them the full credit.
- Wear them. All 15 earrings listed in this article are different. Surely you could find an occasion to wear these sometimes.
Happy crocheting! I hope these patterns inspire you to pick up a crochet hook!
