Hello friends, and welcome to the tester call for the Not Knot Shelf! I am so grateful that you are interested in testing this pattern, and please know that a successful pattern release will only be made possible by you!

The Not Knot Shelf was designed to mimic the geometry and texture of macramé. I saw a shelf similar to this one and thought “I can crochet that”. I took on the challenge and translated the knots of macramé into the “not knots” of crochet diamond stitches.
This pattern uses a stitch combination of front post stitches, front post 2 together stitches and single crochet stitches. Since it uses a new stitch and requires various steps to assemble, I have many resources to help you along the way.

Details of the Pattern Test
Deadline: April 2, 2023
Skill Level: Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate
Finished Size: 26″ L x 32″ H x 5.5″ D
Yarn: approximately 6 skeins (about 720 yards) of Peaches and Creme (100% cotton, 120yds/109m per 2.5oz/70.9g, medium weight)
Hooks: 5 mm and 5.5 mm
Gauge: 15 sc x 16 rows per 4″x4″, worked in single crochet
Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors
Other tools: dowel rod and wood cut to length
Requirements
- Finish the project on time.
- Give feedback during the testing phase. Check for grammar and spelling errors, inconsistencies, etc.
- After completing the pattern test, fill out a short questionnaire about the pattern and the overall experience of testing.
- Share photos via Instagram, Ravelry, etc.
In return, I will send you the final copy of the crochet pattern upon it’s release, and maybe a little something else 🙂
