Video Resources
For the visual learners out there, these videos cover the stitches and techniques used throughout the pattern.
How to Begin
The foundation to all knit patterns begins with the cast on (co): how loose yarn gets onto a knitting needle, ready for the first row of stitches. This pattern uses the long tail cast on. Follow along with the video tutorial here:
Stitch Pattern
The seed stitch is used for the pattern. It’s rather simple after stitches are cast on.
Row 1: *k1, p1; repeat from * to end of row.
Row 2: *p1, k1; repeat from * to end of row
Repeat rows 1-2
Fundamental Stitches
The seed stitch is a combination of knits and purls. If you need a slower tutorial on how to knit and purl, watch these individual videos.
Binding Off
When your blanket has reached the desired length, it’s time to get those stitches off of the needles in a way that your blanket doesn’t come unraveled. In the video below you will see the most popular way to bind off stitches. Make sure to keep a loose tension so your blanket edge doesn’t curl!
Adding Twisted Fringe
The pattern details how to add twisted fringe to the blanket. If you would rather follow along to a video, I have one linked below. It details 3 ways to add fringe.
The fringe outlined in the pattern is the 2nd version (crossover twist) in the video. However, feel free to choose the version/look you like better!
